Empowering Lives Orphanage - Ilula, Kenya

It was almost a year ago that I started praying about beginning an orphanage. I am so amazed on how God will call you and I to do extraordinary things for him. Today I came across this scripture:

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

I have been in ministry since 1983 and I have committed most of those years working with youth. But never thought about reaching out to children that have lost their parents until the Lord placed it on my heart exactly a year ago this month. I’ll be leaving for Addis, Ethiopia February 9th at 6:00 a.m from LAX. During that trip I’ll be visiting orphanages in Ethiopia and Kenya (pictured)

Please pray that this will be a productive trip. That I will be prepared emotionally and spiritually and physically. I am told that this trip will take me to extremes in these areas. I’ll keep you posted.
